How do you support young people preparing for a role in today’s digital workplaces? It’s more important than ever to ensure jobseekers are up to speed, confident, and digitally literate.
That’s why BT came to UpSkill Digital.
We were asked to develop virtual, instructor-led training courses to support 16-24 year olds; and adapt our original face-to-face sessions to serve the same purpose in classroom-style webinars, during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Focusing on the themes - 'Preparing for a Career in Today's Digital Workplace’ and 'Bringing Your Ideas to Life’ - two 45 minute sessions were created and delivered via a virtual platform. We sourced two expert coaches from our global network, who presented and moderated two webinars per week, over an 18 week period.
The sessions reviewed six key themes essential to the modern workplace, as well as covering practical websites like Slack and Google Suite, that help an individual get set up. Throughout the sessions, our lead coach would ask questions of the attendees, actively encouraging participation through the chat box.
UpSkill Digital have now delivered over 30 virtual sessions to over 400 people, showcasing digital capabilities; and providing key tools to help them find a job in today’s digital workplace. There was an impressively high engagement from participants during the sessions, who fully utilised the opportunity to ask questions and interact with our trainers. Feedback from attendees has been fantastic and the programme continues to run, with our moderators on hand to respond and ask thought provoking questions.
